In 2018, due to the interest of state and military forest workers, the workshop was held in Czech language, for the first time also including practical exercises outside. The event, titled Lesy bezpilotně 2018, took place on November 1-2, 2018, at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, and its Arboretum in Kostelec nad Černými lesy.
The workshop covered UAV applications in forestry, including remote sensing, aerial surveying, and data processing. Topics included sensor technologies, legislative requirements, geodetic systems, spectral reflectance, and thermal imaging for tree physiology assessment. Participants also practiced UAV flight planning, execution, and data collection in real-world conditions.
The event was primarily designed for forestry professionals and advanced students. After completing the course, participants received an official certificate confirming their newly acquired knowledge and skills.
