The Second workshop for UAVs in forestry was mostly focused on data processing and information gathering from UAV (and aerial) based rasters. The event was hosted at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, with contributions from international experts. The key topics included remote sensing techniques, photogrammetry, LiDAR scanning, and UAV-based inventory assessment.
The workshop featured renowned researchers such as Marek Fabrika from the Technical University of Zvolen (Slovakia), who presented on forest modeling and visualization, and Christopher Bahr from the University of Göttingen (Germany), who discussed structural models for pine trees. Additionally, experts from Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Angola contributed insights on forest regeneration, political aspects of forestry, and timber commercialization.
This workshop served as a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge on modern UAV applications in forestry, with a strong emphasis on decision-making and growth modeling in forest management.
