Workshop 2026
When technology meets nature: An innovative workshop with drones and AI!
Fly, analyze, innovate!
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the 11th edition of the UAV Forestry Workshop!
When we started the workshop, drones in forestry were still something new and experimental. Today, they are becoming an increasingly important part of how we observe, understand and manage forests.
This is especially true in areas recovering from large-scale disturbances such as bark beetle outbreaks, windthrow or fire. These forests are often difficult to access, rapidly changing, and increasingly important to monitor. We need to know whether regeneration is really happening, how quickly the new forest is developing, and whether these areas are returning to their role as carbon sinks.
Drones, together with artificial intelligence, remote sensing and new types of sensors, give us completely new ways to answer these questions — from individual seedlings and trees to entire landscapes.
The 2026 workshop will therefore focus not only on what drones can already do in forestry, but also on where the technology is heading next.
Have a look at the topics below — hopefully you will find something that makes you want to join us in Prague.
